How do i rent a ChargeUP powerbank?
You can rent a ChargeUP powerbank simply by scanning the QR code on the station and paying through our web application. Alternatively, you can download the ChargeUP app via the App store or Google Play store. On the homescreen you can see a map of all the ChargeUP Stations close to you. To rent a powerbank simply press on the 'Scan QR' button to scan one of the QR codes on the front of the station. After following the instructions on the app, the powerbank will be automatically released.
How do I use a ChargeUP powerbank?
A ChargeUP powerbank works in the same way as most traditional powerbank power banks. The difference is that there are built-in cables. Every ChargeUP powerbank is equiped with an USB C and lightening cable. So You do not need to have your own cable.
How can I check the charge level of the powerbank?
On the front of the powerbank you can find 3 white LED lights. You can determine the charge level of the powerbank based on the 3 LED lights. The number of LED lights will be reduced, as the powerbank runs out of power.
How am I charged for using a ChargeUP powerbank?
You will be charged a fixed hourly fee up to a maximum of 5 hours per 24 hours. After 2 days (48 hours), the ChargeUP powerbank will be considered purchased for a fixed fee and the rental payment stops automatically.
How do I return a ChargeUP powerbank?
To return, you look for a ChargeUP Station with an empty slot. Simply put the cables back into their place and insert the ChargeUP powerbank into an available slot. Make sure to push your ChargeUP powerbank until you hear a click sound.
What happens if I don't return, damage or lose a ChargeUP powerbank?
If the powerbank is not returned within 48 hours, a replacement fee of $40 will also be applied. In cases of damage or loss, the same $40 fee will be charged to cover the cost of the device.
My ChargeUP powerbank does not charge my device, what do I do?
First, make sure your ChargeUP powerbank is switched on by pushing on the the button on the side of the ChargeUP powerbank (you will see the white LED lights turn on). Then make sure that the cables are connected properly to your mobile device. It is advisable to take off thick phone/device cases to ensure the charger fits perfectly into your device. If it still fails to charge your phone then please report this to contact@chargeup.au.
What happens if I can't return a powerbank?
If you're unable to return the powerbank due to unexpected circumstances, we recommend contacting our support team as soon as possible. However, please note that if the powerbank isn't returned within 48 hours, the charger is viewed as purchased and a fee of $40 will be charged.
What happens if there are no batteries available at the ChargeUP station?
If there are no batteries available at a ChargeUP Station, check on the map which ChargeUP Station are nearby.
How many times can a ChargeUP powerbank charge up my phone?
Our fast-charging batteries have a capacity of 8000mAh, which can provide approximately 2 to 3 full charges depending on your phone model and usage. They're compatible with most modern smartphones and designed to keep you powered on the go.
Can a ChargeUP powerbank charge my other devices?
A ChargeUP powerbank can charge any device which uses the following cable: Lightning (iPhone, iPad), USB-C (Newer iPhones, Android devices, Certain Laptop's).
Can I charge my ChargeUP powerbank myself?
You can plug in a power adapter into the USB-C port on the side of the ChargeUP powerbank to charge it.
How do I find a ChargeUP station?
Find all ChargeUP stations on our app or by scanning the QR code on the back of a power bank. ChargeUP stations can be found in a range of venues including Bars, Restaurants, Hotels, Cafes etc.
How long does it take to fully charge my phone?
ChargeUP batteries have quick-charge technology built-in which allow most phones to be fully charged in just over an hour on average.
What are the payment methods I can use on my ChargeUP app?
We accept Apple Pay and Google Pay as well as different credit cards (Mastercard, VISA) and prepaid cards (as longs as there is enough credit).
Can I charge multipe devices at the same time with a ChargeUP powerbank?
The ChargeUP powerbank is only intended to charge one device at a time.
Are ChargeUP batteries waterproof?
Our ChargeUP batteries are splashproof, but they are not waterproof. If you dropped your ChargeUP powerbank in water, please contact us immediately.
What happens if I rent a ChargeUP powerbank with no cables or damaged cables?
We regularly monitor for damaged chargers and cables. If you still happen to be given one, please report this problem to contact@chargeup.au with a photo of the device and rental location then return the ChargeUP powerbank asap. Re-rent a powerbank and as a different charger should pop out.
Can I rent more than 1 ChargeUP powerbank at a time?
You can only rent 1 ChargeUP powerbank at a time. No worries ask your friend or another person to download the ChargeUP app, to rent another ChargeUP powerbank !
How do I know for how long I rented a ChargeUP powerbank and how much it costed me?
In 'My history' in the ChargeUP app, you can find an overview of all the ChargeUP batteries you rented with all the information you need.
What do I do if I rent a ChargeUP powerbank that isn't fully charged?
The ChargeUP Station will never release a ChargeUP powerbank unless it is charged over 85%. If a ChargeUP powerbank is released with insufficient charge, please contact us with our in-app customer support.
What should I do if the ChargeUP app is not working?
First ensure the app is up to date. Then close and reopen your ChargeUP app. If the issue still persists attempt to scan the QR code and pay via the web application. A hard reset is also possible by deleting the ChargeUP app and by installing it again. If the ChargeUP app is still not working, please contact us by e-mail (contact@chargeup.au).
When do I get charged for using a ChargeUP powerbank?
An initial deposit is required. Then you are charged on an hourly basis up to a daily cap. The daily cap is charged twice up to the 2 day return point. If the charger is not returned then the additional fee for the purchase of the charger is charged. If the rental is less than the deposit any remaining funds from the deposit are returned to you.
How do I report any problem?
You can report any problem by using our in-app customer support (yellow triangle next to the 'Scan station'-button) or by sending an e-mail to contact@chargeup.au
What do I do if the ChargeUP Station I want to return my ChargeUP powerbank is full?
If the ChargeUP Station is full we invite you to look on our ChargeUP app which other ChargeUP Stations are nearby to drop your ChargeUP powerbank in a nearby ChargeUP Station.
If I am issued a refund how long will it take?
After a refund has been approved, we expect you to have your refund within 8 working days.
